Dennis Sowards has been helping companies improve their operations and create loyal customers for over 30 years. Prior to starting his own consulting firm, Dennis was the manager of continuous improvement and communications at KINETICS. There, he led several successful projects that applied lean to construction. One of these, the 5S’s was featured in PM Magazine in February 2003 and received MCAA’s E. Robert Kent Award for Management Innovation. Prior to coming to KINETICS, Dennis was the quality manager for J. B. Rodgers Mechanical. Dennis has provided consulting to many companies and organizations including PetsMart, USA Today, Shea Homes, General Atomics, Baker Group, Yearout, Waldinger and University Mechanical. He works closely with SMACNA to provide Lean training to chapters around the country and has led several sheet metal contractors in successfully implementing Lean. His articles are published in several national publications including Contractor Magazine. He is the lead author of the SMACNA book - Creating the High-Performing Contracting Company. He has completed major research projects for the New Horizons Foundation including Lean Production Principles and Measuring Customer Loyalty.
Dennis holds a BSE and MBA from Arizona State University.
