Phillip Gillespie’s career began in 1958 as an Apprentice, graduating in 1962. In 1967, he was employed as a detailer at Brad Snodgrass, Inc. rising through the Detailing, Estimating and Administrative departments to become President of the Corporation in 1992. Leaving the company after 30 years, he was named the Project Manager for many projects including Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. He has served as SMACNA of Central Indiana’s Counselor for 13 years as well as holding every office and Local Trust position.
While serving as a third term as President of the Association, Mr. Gillespie was asked to become the chapter manager in 2000. He taught in Local 20’s Training Program for 17 years and has instructed their Contractors School for 18 years.
Mr. Gillespie served as the Charter President of the State Wide Association INSMAC, and acts as the TABB Affiliate Manager for Indiana. He was inducted into SMACNA’s College of Fellows in 2005, and received the Chapter Manager of the Year and the Chapter Legislative Advocate of the Years awards. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Board of the Indiana Construction Education Council and immediate Past President of SMACNA’s Chapter Institute.
